[The gear switches on to show a grand view of a city at midday, cascading down a rocky side of a mountain - or mountains - from some unknown vantage point.]

Lovely, isn't it? I'm sure a lot of you have seen it before, but if sights like Pewter are commonplace in this world, that just makes me more excited to see more.

[Mami turns around her gear to show herself, smiling, sitting on a bench in front of the window of a restaurant, people moving about inside. There's two eggs and a bag at her side, and a pair of swablus perched on the bench back, the smaller yellow one making demanding little head nudges into the larger blue one's wing. And that one just looks confused by it.]

Kaname-san, Miki-san, and I made it to the city not long ago, and I've worked here a most days, but I still can't get over the views. But maybe it would be different, if I had more time to sit and look like this. Most of the time we're busy training our growing group. But you have to make time to spend together and have fun.

And, speaking of which... [She glances about conspiratorially before moving the gear to the chair, where it still shows her but frees her hands to dig through her bag. The two birds both stop and perk their heads curiously as Mami smooths out a piece of paper for the network's perusal. Once done, she has a chance to hold up the gear again, this time pointed at the bench seat with the paper laid out (and what looks like the top of an Oddish buried in the ground off to the side).]

Kaname-san drew some cute things... [What she shows is a drawing in a simple, but creative style, except in the place of magical outfit designs there's a bunch of Pokémon there, wearing cute ribbons and flowers and collars- perhaps even a top hat on a penguin!] And now I'm wondering. Do Pokémon ever wear things like this? Do you think they'd like to?
Good morning! I have a couple questions, and this seems the best place to ask. Though first, I should probably announce- The last of the eggs from the Breeders' Convention hatched.

[And that should be easy to see. A little Swablu is curled up on her shoulder, trying to huddle under one of Mami's ponytails, while behind the girl on the grass is a dozing Petilil, and a tiny Eevee batting her paw playfully in the water. The group's relaxing at the edge of a waterfront, and everytime the Eevee starts a ripple, a baby Feebas surfaces to jump the raised line.]

Trista there was my last to hatch. And we're lucky it was here, since Viridian has this pond for her to swim in.

But I was wondering if anyone would know- Is there a point when it's too soon to evolve a Pokemon? I know Trista and Fulvia - my Eevee, that is - learn varying moves very early on, based on if I evolve them now or not. But I don't want to chance harming them by rushing it.

Also, there's another thing... [Mami glances back at the little ones, only to frown when she spots a tiny Litwick coming up behind Fulvia. The little thing looks ready to pounce and surprise them... and instead uses Toxic, bubbling the attack with a loud noise than sends Fulvia bolting for Mami's lap. But Trista? She splashes around in the uncontaminated part of the water, and shoots a Toxic right back at the dancing Litwick- who just uses Double Team to make it miss.

Mami, meanwhile, is trying to give them a calm cut-it-out talk... Which is ignored, so she sighs and speaks to the feed again.]
I'm discovering the downside of powerful moves in young hands- They're getting a bit better about using them, but in the meantime there's a lot of trouble risked. Is there any good way to- [Suddenly, she and the whole group gets a face full of water when Trista looses her temper and uses Surf. Cue one near-fainted Litwick bowled over, a growling pair of Eevee and Swablu, and highly confused Petilil, and one drenched trainer.

Also one jumpy Feebas, giving sheepish, worried noises as Mami's blinks fleck the screen with water... A few seconds before it goes out. Anyone's guess if it's from water damage or not.

Either way, if you're running around Viridian you might spot Mami, walking back to the center soaking wet and a whining baby swablu on her shoulder.]
[The PokéGear turns on to show Mami, hesitating with the controls until she realizes she's succeeded, and smiles.]

Hello, my name is Mami Tomoe. I know it's rather early for this, but since some people might not know what Pallet Town has to offer, my friend and I thought we might give you a peek.

[And she shifts the view to... a long patch of dirt, decent sized holes dug in a line along its length. Apparently - despite the chill in the air - someone decided to spend the snow-free weekend gardening.]

Along with a lovely fish market and cozy inn, Pallet offers a berry orchard, and for a small fee visitors can pluck their pick. It will be a few months yet before they bloom, but we're just now planting some of the trees you'll be able to see, this coming spring.

Kaname-san?

[The gear turns to show Madoka, who is smiling too. She'd be so nervous to do this alone, but it's fun to do this with a friend!]

And did you know that Pallet Town is said to be the Friendliest Town in Kanto? [She frowns a bit.] The ferry ride was kind of expensive, but [...back to her cheerful face.] Everything there was great, and you can work at the inn to earn money here. So it's the same what you do in any other city, I think that's what they said. Maybe local restaurants are hiring people too...

[...Oh wait, did she forget to say something important here? Oh!]

My name is Madoka Kaname, you can just call me Madoka! Nice to meet you all!

And then there were trees and battles and questions. )
